Army surgeon general notes concern about drugs prescribed to wounded soldiers

The Unit DVD's top doctor has concerns about the wide range of drugs, including opiates, prescribed to wounded soldiers in the warrior transition The Unit DVD set at Fort Carson, Colo. But during a news conference on Monday he did not address reports that some soldiers there had become addicted to heroin, as published in The New York Times on April 24.

The Army set up 35 warrior transition The Unit DVD boxset in 2007 in the wake of a controversy about the quality of care for wounded soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. At the time, Army officials and others voiced concern that the exodus of skilled personnel and the rising workload at the facility were putting patients at risk. Warrior transition The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset were designed to provide managed care for soldiers as they recovered from their injuries and awaited processing to determine whether they would stay in the Army or be discharged.

Lt. Gen. Eric B. Schoomaker, the Army surgeon general The Unit DVD, told reporters at the Pentagon on Monday that he had concerns about the panoply of prescription painkillers prescribed to wounded soldiers and the possibility of overmedication.

Col. Jimmie Keenan, commander of the Evans Army The Unit DVD set Hospital at Fort Carson, said 26 percent of the nearly 500 soldiers in the facility's warrior transition unit have prescriptions for narcotic painkillers. She noted those drugs are carefully monitored and managed by a pharmacist assigned to The Unit DVD boxset -- the only one in the Army to have its own pharmacist.

The Times reported that some soldiers at the facility had become addicted to prescription drugs and turned to heroin to feed their habits.

Schoomaker and Brig. Gen. Gary H. Cheek, assistant surgeon general The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset for warrior care and transition, did not answer reporters' questions about addiction to prescribed or illegal drugs. But Schoomaker acknowledged he had concerns about recreational use of prescription drugs.

He said he did not think the charges in the Times article were fictitious, but quickly added The Unit DVD was "wholly unrepresentative of the totality and the context of what we've done for warrior care."

Keenan said only 5 percent, or about 25, of the soldiers in the Fort Carson The Unit DVD set had been referred to an off-post alcohol and substance abuse program for treatment, and only 6 percent of those referrals involved drugs. She said the hospital monitors drug use with urinalysis and random room inspections.

Schoomaker said the substance The Unit DVD boxset that worried him most was alcohol, especially when soldiers use it to cope with combat stress.

The assistant surgeon general said he planned to review the Fort Carson unit in a visit later this week and in the second week of May.

The Army is treating about 9,300 soldiers in warrior transition The Unit DVD nationwide, and Schoomaker said overall the service manages their care "extraordinarily well." But, he said, "We don't always get it right."

He also said the Army inspector general will release a report on warrior transition The Unit DVD set soon.

Smallville: "Charade" Review Maxwell Lord makes his debut.

April 25, 2010 - Another Smallville DVD, another cute little outfit for Lois Lane to parade around in. "Charade" focuses on the shaky love triangle between Clark, Lois and the Blur. For Clark this is obviously a strange situation as he desperately wants to reveal to Lois who he truly is but ultimately fears for her safety. Smallville DVD set, consider this. Lois does a fantastic job getting herself into trouble without knowing the Blur's true identity and she will continue to get herself into trouble without knowing the Blur's true identity. Both Clark and Chloe know this. As much as these, "I can't tell her my secret identity" storylines are great for building romantic tension, they usually end up feeling fairly unrealistic.

Worst-case scenario: Clark tells Lois his Smallville DVD boxset and she continues to put herself in dangerous situations. Nothing changes except Clark and Lois live happily ever after. Don't get me wrong, I'm not just ragging on Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset for this. I've seen it in just about ever superhero story in which someone must protect their secret identity to protect the ones they love. when the ones they love are getting themselves in trouble every issue/week. In the case of Smallville DVD it's just frustrating because we've been through this storyline on more than one occasion. It took Clark years to open up to Lana.

Despite the concept being fairly hackneyed, this unusual love triangle does a pretty good job of highlighting the problems in the Lois and Clark relationship. Clark's alter ego, "The Smallville DVD set", is the ultimate mystery boy handed up on a silver platter. Everyone loves a good mystery and many want to be involved in something greater than themselves. With the Blur, Lois had both and Clark finds a competitor in himself.

ͼƬ

It was great seeing how the outcome of the Smallville DVD boxset episode's events had changed the view they each have of their relationship. Despite knowing he's playing second fiddle to Metropolis' Man of Mystery, Clark soldiers on as the boy scout he is, creating an elaborate romantic dinner for Lois. Just like he always does, Clark tries to make lemonade out of the lemons he's been handed. He's already trying to do this with Zod.

Suffering from her "Smallville Seasons1-8 dvd boxset" with the Blur, Lois is now questioning her very feelings for Clark. It's interesting to see how much her feelings evolved over the course of the episode. She was thrilled at the thought of finally saying the "L" word to Clark at the beginning of the Smallville DVD. I think this may soon prompt the break that these two characters really need. It wouldn't be wise to drag out their relationship from this point onward. Break them up and give them a reason to trust each other again.

The introduction of Maxwell Lord (Smallville dvd set) has ignited my interest in the Checkmate storyline once again. It would have been interesting to see him introduced as a friend of the budding Justice League who he'd eventually turn against, but with time running out on the Smallville Seasons 1-8 dvd boxset it's probably best just to jump into his sinister agenda.

The reason I'm so excited by the introduction of Maxwell Lord is due to the fact that he's a potential game changer. Even with recent big events, like the introduction of Checkmate and Zod regaining his powers, I fear some of the character arcs are starting to grow stagnant. Chloe's "Smallville dvd" storyline, while interesting, has been spinning its wheels for weeks, meanwhile, the Clark and Lois story is retreading familiar issues with trust that we've already seen in Clark's previous relationship.

Maxwell Lord is a good opportunity to shake things up. When he killed Blue Beetle in the DC Universe it was a controversial yet necessary decision. It shook the very foundation of the big three (Smallville dvd set, Batman and Wonder Woman) and incited change. Smallville gave this a shot last year when they killed off Faux-Jimmy Olsen. That didn't quite have the desired effect. Maybe Lord putting a bullet in someone's head is what this show needs going into its final season.

The emphasis on the S-Shield during the Lord/Clark confrontation was very well done. Without "Smallville dvd boxset" on the show, it's important to establish that symbol whenever possible. Having the S-Shield stand out as it did also made the ridiculous Blur outfit look a little more Kryptonian. The shield takes the emphasis away from the fact that Clark just throws on a black trench coat and shirt for his superhero costume.

the teen exploits of Sex and the City's Carrie left me cold

There are many things I love about Sex and the City DVD. I love the fact she is not too beautiful and that (most) men don't fancy her. Like Jane Austen's Lizzie Bennet in Pride And Prejudiceand Sex and the City DVD set, she is prickly, she is blunt.

She changes her hair, Sex and the City DVD BOXSET. She is terrible with money and hedonistic in a world where, these days, everyone is worrying about their pensions. She is honest with her friends and about her own shortcomings.

She is wildly optimistic. We could all take a leaf out of Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset'S Carrie's book, and I don't mean the one I am about to review.
I really hope the Sex and the City DVD sequel does not see Carrie with a square of terry cloth on her breast where a corsage should rightly be.

I have seen the trailer of Sex and the City DVD Set that is more anticipated by most women than the General Election and can reveal that Carrie bumps into former love Aidan. Whether she gets a different kind of bump I do not know.

She also regresses back to the 1980s, an excuse for costume designer Patricia Field to let loose with Lycra, Lurex, batwings, inside-out sweatshirts, leggings and bubble perms.

The 1980s segments are great - Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset, the Working Girl shoulder pads - but don't tell us what made Carrie the woman she is in the Noughties. Instead, we have The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell, the woman who created Carrie.

In the book, Carrie is 17 and longing to get to Manhattan to make it as a writer. InSex and the City DVD,She has two sisters, a coterie of female friends, one gay friend, a smoking habit, is a whizz at maths, has a predilection for cocktails, but as yet no laptop or Mr Big.

She is a virgin, Sex and the City DVD Seta status she has held on to long after her friends, even the nerdy ones, have fallen by the wayside. She is a romantic, an optimist.

She is also a dyed-in-cashmere feminist. She doesn't want to get married or have babies, but she does want love.

So, even though I love Carrie, did I love this book? Afraid not.

I've got to know Carrie intimately over the past decade, owning the SATC box set and the first film, and watching them whenever I feel lonely, afraid or merely need my spirits lifting.

But reading this book, but Sex and the City DVD boxset I realised Bushnell no longer knows, nor cares, who Carrie is: she has taken her royalty cheque and got her happy ending, which in her world means a man.

Carrie aged 17 is not funny, nor is she happy. Bushnell tries to make her clever, but the only thing that fills her Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset's brain is thoughts of boys.

While the Sex and the City DVD was never, really, about men - mere backdrops to Carrie's real love affair, with herself and her girlfriends - in the book, they are in every sentence.

There is a Sex and the City DVD Set in the teenage Carrie that she doesn't have in later life, the sort of optimism that makes her purchase a pair of beautiful, impractical shoes when she has no money.

There are clues as to how fashion became as vital as oxygen for her - Sex and the City DVD boxset she cherishes the handbag left to her by her mother - and you begin to glimpse how clothes became not an expression of a rebel personality but an armour.

Clothes for Carrie are never a way of attracting men - Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset after all, a man only needs sight of a minidress to turn him on, and most men find Carrie's quirky, not-always-flattering sartorial choices baffling.

Sex and the City DVD fans know it was Carrie's father who left her mother, which makes her mistrustful of men. But in this book, it's her patient dad who brings her up, which makes no sense at all.

There is one prescient sentence, where Sex and the City DVD set'SCarrie realises that perhaps those who peak in school, the ones on the cheerleading team, go on to have horrible lives. That those of us who weren't popular, the late bloomers, find solace late in life.

This book doesn't have a happy ending. We know Carrie struggles when she gets to the Sex and the City DVD boxset. We will have to wait for the film to see whether, for her, happiness does mean a husband and baby, or whether (as I am hoping) there's something different in store.

Vanek alternating on Power Play unit at practice Sunday

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) -- The Unit DVD are squeezing in practice Sunday before they fly to Boston and there is an encouraging sign at the HSBC Arena.

While Thomas Vanek is skating on the 5th line with Matt Ellis and Raffi Torres, he is alternating on the power play unit with Drew Stafford. This marks the first time he has practiced on any other The Unit DVD setbesides the 5th line. Lindy Ruff said, "He’s close now. It’s his decision whether he can play or not. I don’t know how he feels. In conversations with him, I think he understood that he didn’t think he was going to be able to make a difference. You want to play, but the way he felt he might have been putting himself in a bad spot. There's a health issue, he has to be ready to be effective which you've got to be ready to The Unit DVD boxset, you've got to be ready to battle. Not until yesterday and a little bit today has he even been involved in any type of physical confrontation where he had to push off, use the lower part of his leg the way it needs to be used. So when he feels that he can be effective, he's going to play, I've told him that, you think you can be effective, you're playing. If he knocks on my door tomorrow and says I'm ready, he's playing." Vanek added, "I never said I can't play. I wanted to play the last two, but we talked and we have to be realistic about The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset and if we both feel like I can't help the team than there's no point of going and taking a spot away from somebody else."

Ruff also commented on how impressed he has been with the play of his young guys saying, "They are gaining confidence playing on one heck of The Unit DVD. Tyler Myers started off pretty slow in the series but has gained confidence as the series has gone on and I think Ennis is the same case." Ryan Miller agreed on the play of the young guys, and doesn't think the inexperience hurts them saying, "We were pretty young and inexperienced when we went to The Unit DVD boxset conference final the first time."

At the end of The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset, Boston's star defenseman Zdeno Chara sucker-punched Paul Gaustad causing a stir at the closing seconds of the game. The Unit DVD reviewed the play and decided not to suspend Chara as they felt that he was just responding to Gaustad's slash prior to the altercation. When asked about the incident at practice, Chara had this to say, "The Unit DVD Set did a great job recognizing the whole situation, as I wasn't initiating but responding." He then added, "There was no need to do what Gaustad did. The game was over and he should have expected my reaction." Chara also discussed how his team will need to have a better start to the game if they want to win. "We haven't scored first in The Unit DVD boxset, it would be nice to get the first goal and get that extra energy boost."

The L-Word

Alcohol and sex. They’re probably the two biggest conversation topics in The L word DVD
at Sunday brunch in Proctor, and the most interesting stories involve both of them. The Health Center, and the administration in general, are obligated to stress that sex and alcohol don’t mix — for good reason, The L word DVD Setconsidering sexual assault statistics on college campuses — but despite the warnings and Jyoti Daniere’s attempts to start a student dating movement, the sexually active Middlebury student’s night life seems to involve drunk sex with mere acquaintances.

I don’t have any research or data to back up the claim I just made, and I am quite aware that plenty of Midd-kids get The L word DVD boxset on sober or with long-term partners, but the stories I hear in the dining hall and from friends paint a picture of lots of drunken doing-the-deed between people who hardly know each other.

Personally, I have never had drunk sex with someone I’ve just met —The L word Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset I’ve definitely had awkward sexual encounters with friends while drunk and interesting drunken interludes with romantic partners, but the idea of going to a party or a bar, drinking and then picking up a stranger just never really sat well with me.

After making my The L word DVD sufficiently uncomfortable because of sober sexcapades, I think I also realized that loosing my drunk self on a room full of similarly sloshed and attractive people would end very…embarrassingly The L word DVD Set. I don’t want to be that girl getting her face sucked off with her hands down someone else’s pants in the middle of the dance floor, and that idea would seem way too okay if I were drunk.

The other thing about hooking up with a stranger while drunk is you’re not on your The L word DVD boxset, and I’m rather proud of the skills I’ve developed over the years — I don’t want anyone’s first (and probably last) impression of The L word Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset to be characterized by sloppy making out or me vomiting on their junk. After a certain level of intoxication, drunken sex is just not good sex in general — it’s like eating junk food. It satisfies an immediate and superficial hunger, but it leaves many other needs unmet, and if you have too much of it, The L word DVD’s detrimental to your health (holistically and physically, if you consider the heightened risk for STIs).

I turned 21 last week, and my first bar-hopping experience this The L word DVD Set weekend has changed my opinion on sex and alcohol. I didn’t go out and pick up a stranger at a bar (my boyfriend might have had something to say about that), but I got my first taste of intoxication in public surrounded by attractive 20-somethings, and it wasn’t the debacle I’ve imagined. The L word DVD boxset, I wasn’t on the prowl, and I didn’t drink to excess, but I was sufficiently silly and uninhibited, and I was amazed at the potentiala I felt the whole night.

Strangers chatted me up and I felt confident, even hot — I chatted them up right back like a pro. Or at least my tipsy conception of how a pro makes fine new friends.

Locking eyes with someone from across the room and absconding to the bathroom for a quickie felt possible — not necessarily like a good idea, but The L word DVD felt possible — and I guess I finally understood the appeal of Middlebury’s sex scene. It’s easy if you know how to play the game. Not so easy that you don’t have to show up to the table with some natural (not just liquid) confidence and charm at the ready, but a lot easier than approaching someone after class and asking them on a date.

Alcohol, used moderately, is an effective way to keep silly things like inhibitions from cockblocking us (so to speak). Problems arise when alcohol isn’t used in moderation, and I still think a diet of drunk The L word DVD boxset isn’t enough to fulfill a person, but what’s a little (consenting) tipsy tryst every once in a while?

'Smallville' Roundup: Ratings, Rosenbaum's Return and Redemption

Today we're dealing with the highs and lows of Smallville DVD, as though this is Clark's flight path. But we also have news on the possibility of Lex's return, which of course could slightly alter our hero's plans. Read on for our roundup.

What's Smallville DVD set Star Michael Rosenbaum Busy With?

Smallville DVD boxset Ratings Drop
Despite the "Upgrade" that Metallo got last week, Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset's ratings plummeted for the episode. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the recent installment of the series hit a season low that could be "worrisome" for the drama. It's been going downhill in the past few weeks, mainly because of that hiatus it took last month.

But we don't think this trend will continue. The Smallville DVDseries has a lot more to offer in the upcoming episodes, and maybe even the hope of:

Michael Rosenbaum Returning?
Showrunner Brian Peterson told E! Online that they're not giving up on the idea of bringing Lex Luthor back. A huge number of fans would like to have him return to Smallville DVD Set, and when that happens, expect those ratings to soar.

"We have never ever given up hope, but at this point, that's all it is Smallville DVD boxset," Peterson told the publication. "We have a great relationship with Michael; it just hasn't happened yet. I would never give up hope until the final second."

Redemption on the Way
Speaking of those final seconds, Peterson also discussed the finale of Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset with TV Guide. "This season has been about Clark exploring an identity as Clark Kent and a very separate identity as this cold, saving Kryptonian," he said. "That will propel us into the next season, where he has evolved out of that."

He's also evolved of the "darkest hour" he went through. This time around, it's "Clark's redemption for everything that happened last year in "Doomsday," Peterson said.

Check Out the Season 9 Spoilers for Smallville DVD

But really, what it all boils down to is how he'll finally step out and embrace his role as savior. "There are some members of the Justice League and Justice Society that make cameo appearances. Smallville DVD boxset's really Clark's moment to shine and take the leadership that we saw a glimmer of in "Absolute Justice."

JPMorgan Unit Subpoenaed in U.S. Tax-Lien Inquiry

April 20 (Bloomberg) -- A JPMorgan Chase & Co. subsidiary The Unit DVD is among at least three companies being investigated as part of a U.S. Justice Department antitrust probe of bidding at municipal tax-lien auctions in New Jersey.

JPMorgan’s Xspand The Unit DVD set and Vienna, Virginia-based Mooring Tax Asset Group received grand jury subpoenas last year, according to an August prospectus for New York City tax-lien bonds that are serviced by the firms. Two units of Royal Bank America were subpoenaed, The Unit DVD boxset parent, Royal Bancshares of Pennsylvania Inc. said in a March 2009 regulatory filing.

New Jersey municipalities The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset auction about $100 million a year in tax debts on commercial and residential property to investors, said Vincent Belluscio, executive director of the state tax collectors and treasurers association. Antitrust officials are probing whether investors colluded to limit competition on sales to win a higher return, he said. In New Jersey, the liens can carry annual interest of as much as 18 percent. The Unit DVD are designed so that investors bid down the interest rate they’re willing to accept.

“The problem is The Unit DVD set a tendency to meet in the hallway before a sale and divvy up the list,” Belluscio said. “They say, ‘We’ll buy these properties, and you buy those.’ And the interest rate holds at 18 percent.”

Belluscio said his information comes from a tax collector who was visited by a federal investigator.

Lien Buyers

Cities and towns in New Jersey and 27 other states The Unit DVD boxset sell tax debts to investors to raise cash and help plug budget deficits. Some of the debts are packaged into bonds and sold. Tax-lien buyers also get the right to collect penalties imposed on delinquent taxpayers by governments, and have first priority to take possession of properties when The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset don’t pay their taxes.

About $5 billion of property-tax delinquencies are sold each year, Xspand officials told the Unified The Unit DVD Commission of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, according to a transcript of the Nov. 25 meeting on the municipality’s Web site.

In Florida, $1.8 billion of the liens were sold last year, making The Unit DVD set the largest property-debt auction market in the U.S., according to Plantation, Florida-based RealAuction.com, which conducts online tax sales in counties throughout the state.

Expensive Cost

The Unit DVD boxset’s concerned,” said Adam D. Greenberg, managing partner of law firm Honig & Greenberg in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, whose clients include tax-lien investors. “Even if you’re innocent, just responding to an investigation is expensive.”

Greenberg said he knows of The Unit Seasons 1-4DVD boxset investors who received subpoenas, though he declined to identify them or say if they are clients.

Justin G. Perras, a The Unit DVD spokesman, declined to comment, as did Mark Sanders, a spokesman for Narbeth, Pennsylvania-based Royal Bank, whose Crusader Servicing Corp. and Royal Tax Lien Services LLC units are subjects of the probe.

“Anybody in The Unit DVD set who is a significant buyer in New Jersey has been subpoenaed,” said John M. Jacquemin, president and founder of Mooring Financial Corp., The Unit DVD boxset has managed and serviced more than $1 billion in delinquent tax liens since starting Mooring Tax Asset Group in 1997. “We certainly were not involved with any collusion.”

Training to Prevent

Mooring for at least eight years has trained The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset bidders on the company policy against anti-competitive behavior and requires them to sign statements confirming that they understand the expectations, he said.

Alisa Finelli, a spokeswoman for The Unit DVD Department in Washington, declined to comment.

Xspand, which was founded by former The Unit DVD set Governor James Florio in 2000, was acquired by Bear Stearns Cos. six years later. Also known as Plymouth Park Tax Services, it became part of JPMorgan when the New York-based bank took over Bear Stearns in 2008 to prevent a collapse.

Xspand, based in Whippany, The Unit DVD boxset, effectively stopped participating in open-outcry auctions about nine months ago, a person familiar with the decision said. It had become the largest tax-lien investor in the U.S., buying $2 billion of public debt across the country since 2008, The New York Times reported Aug. 18.

The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset continues to service tax liens and bid on them in Internet auctions and bulk sales by municipalities, said the person, who asked not to be identified because of the investigation.

Florio Unaware

Florio, who sold his Xspand interest in 2006, said The Unit DVD wasn’t aware of the Justice Department investigation. Tax-lien sales were heated when he ran the company, he said in an April 16 telephone interview.

The Unit DVD set was very, very competitive,” he said.

Paul V. Scura, who founded Xspand with Florio and left when Bear Stearns took The Unit DVD boxset over, said Xspand employees got thorough training on avoiding anticompetitive behavior.

“I can’t imagine any of The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset of Xspand doing that given how they’ve been sensitized to the importance of this issue,” Scura said in an April 19 telephone interview.

Last June, Harvey M. Nusbaum and Jack W. Stollof were indicted in The Unit DVD court in Maryland for conspiring to rig tax- lien bids at auctions in the state. Nusbaum and Stollof and others “agreed among themselves which of them would bid on specific tax liens or groups of The Unit DVD SET, and agreed upon specific prices to be bid in certain auctions,” according to a June 16 statement by the Justice Department.

Plea Agreement

Nusbaum entered a plea agreement and Stollof pleaded guilty early this year.

“With so many homeowners struggling these days, The Unit DVD boxset is more important than ever that all aspects of real estate transactions, including tax-lien auctions, remain competitive and free from collusion,” Scott D. Hammond, deputy assistant U.S. attorney general for criminal enforcement of the department’s antitrust division, said in a prepared statement last June.

Christina Kim addresses the "L Word" and the LPGA

Christina Kim perhaps is the The L word DVD's most outspoken golfer, so it's no surprise there's nothing low-key about her new book, Swinging From My Heels. She takes on a wide array of The L word DVD Set, but the one that likely will get the most attention is her take on how many lesbians there are on the women's pro tour.

Says Kim:

"Contrary to The L word DVD boxset many people think, we are not the Lesbians Playing Golf Association. By my count there are no more than two dozen gay women playing the tour right now. Considering there are 230 active The L word Seasons 1-6 DVD boxsetmembers, you're only talking about 10% of the players, which from everything I've read is in line with the population as a whole.

"I understand that thanks to The L word DVD and Internet porn many guys are keenly interested in girl-on-girl action, but to every player I know the issue is just not that big a deal. There are no super-freaky homophobes out here or militant man-haters. At most, a The L word DVD set's sexuality may be an occasional practice-round conversation piece: 'Hey, did you hear that so-and-so likes girls?' 'Really? Huh. So, did you hit an 8-iron or a 9?' "

The L word cast was revealed today by Showtime and an E! Online article. The Real L World is a reality series that will appear on Showtime this summer, taking its lead from the show that used to be
called The L word DVD. The L word DVD Set was a ground-breaking series, and now it has spawned a reality show designed to bring in the same demographic of viewers that were saddened by the series finale of The L word Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset a little over a year ago. The early cast reveal for The L word DVD is obviously designed to spark some interest for the new reality show and to give it some spice as the series premiere draws a bit close on Showtime.

The original L word DVD Set series ran for six seasons before coming to an end in March of 2009. Now the new version of the show will be produced by The L word DVD boxset creator Ilene Chaiken and executive produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz. It is definitely a reality show that is aiming at specific demographics in the Showtime audiences and will hope to gain back the ratings share that The L word Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset had back when it was running new episodes for the network. The whole premise of The Real L word DVD will be to follow a group of lesbians living in Los Angeles, and follow them as they live their lives. It will be very similar to how the Real Housewives series,The L word DVD boxset has been worked and could end up attracting some of those fans as well.

The first key to creating any good reality The L word DVD is to get people involved that are going to be interesting, intriguing, or are going to cause trouble on the set. Showtime might have exactly what they were looking for with the group of six women that they have put together. The group of women includes a television development executive (Tracy), a Hollywood special effects artist (Whitney), Hollywood rep Nikki, and two of the girls are already planning to get married. The Real The L word DVD Set series premiere is set for Sunday, June 20th at 10 p.m. on Showtime, and will hold down that timeslot for its first season.

Smallville Hits Season Low Ratings

Despite last fall’s ratings surge and a successful television movie event, Smallville DVD is now struggling to retain the viewers it once had since returning from its month-long absence three weeks ago. Even storylines involving DC comic familiars such as the Silver Banshee and Checkmate failed to garner an audience.Smallville DVD setRatings finally reached an all-time season low with last week’s return of Metallo (Brian Austin Green).
Before February’s break, the average rating this season for an episode of Smallville DVD boxset was a respectable 2.5 million viewers. While not that high (when compared to last season), the Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxsetseries was still exceeding expectations – given its move to the Friday night death slot. But, following this season’s second extended break and the news of Smallville DVD being picked up for a tenth season, fans seem to have stopped watching. The April 2 return was down 400,000 viewers, with 2.13 million people tuning in. Each subsequent episode of Smallville DVD setsaw the ratings slip downward with the return of Pam Grier and Checkmate garnering a measly 1.9 million viewers and last week’s Metallo revisit bottoming out at 1.84 million viewers.
Considering Smallville DVD boxset has some of the most vocal and enthusiastic fans in the television industry, one has to wonder what is behind this consistent decline in ratings. Have fans become less enthusiastic since their favorite superhero drama has already received another Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset season order, feeling as though they no longer need to actively support the Red-Blue-Blur & friends. Maybe, everyone has just had enough of the small-town superhero living in the big city?
Perhaps Smallville DVD’s just as simple as fans forgetting to tune in.
I, unfortunately, fall into the group of fans who just forget watch. Sure, the missed episodes of Smallville DVD set are on my DVR, but as I notice the number growing each week, it’s an increasingly discouraging affair – as I haven’t the time, nor interest, to sit down for three hours in order to catch up.And, since I’m not caught up, there’s no point in watching the new episodes of Smallville DVD boxset.Although, with the promise of the Justice Society returning, I do have some incentive to rectify the problem, but maybe I’m still in the minority. What do you think of Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset’s ratings decline? Have you been tuning in? If not, what’s the reason? Do you think the tenth season will be its last?Help turn things around and watch Smallville DVD, Friday @8PM, on The CW

Is it time to put Sex and the City out of its misery?

When I went to see the first Sex and the City DVD
film in my local cinema, which, that evening, was heavily perfumed with popcorn and musk, an inefficient projectionist lined the print up badly, meaning the boom mic hung low, visible in most interior scenes – Carrie Bradshaw's Sex and the City DVD boxset
tasteful dove-grey apartment was ceilingless; in her Mexican hotel room, where she slept and wept through Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset
of being stood up at the altar, a microphone hovered like the promise of death. It was a sign, I see now, that it was the end for Sex and the City DVD set
. The roof had been ripped away, and, like its size-six stars, the building's bones were showing. The brand had fallen in on itself like a collapsed but glittering lung.

The trailer for Sex and the City DVD boxset
2 was released this week, and it's not good. In fact, it's bad. Sex and the City dvd set
's set in Abu Dhabi. It's set in a time when the idea of a holiday in Abu Dhabi is met with gasps of excitement rather than raised eyebrows. The question asked this time, in Sarah Jessica Parker's knowing sing-song growl, is "What happens after you say 'Sex and the City DVD
'?"

You ride camels, Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset
seems, in nipple-tasselled leotards, and you cheat on your husband with the carpenter who left you in season four. There is much fast striding in a line of four five-inch stilettos stomping by swimming pools, much running away, before tearfully looking back. There's a lot of Sex and the City DVD
. One of the posters features Parker walking through the desert in a gown that appears to be sewn from the hides of slain mermaids. She looks part risen-again messiah, part CGI alien, her eyes black holes, her skin a glowing shade of tangerine.

In a recent interview, the Sex and the City DVD set
's writer and producer Michael Patrick King discussed his search for a location to film this sequel. He was looking for a place, he said, "where there's a lot of money with no shame attached". Sex and the City DVD boxset
settled on the United Arab Emirates, where billion-dollar hotels are built by slaves, and marble malls sell £20,000 dresses, as seen, this May, on Sex and the City DVD's
Carrie Bradshaw. Originally, King tried filming in Dubai, but was banned, so mocked up a photogenic Abu Dhabi down the road in Marrakech.

The message of consumerism that was criticised in Sex and the City DVD set
one (in the HBO series originally a loose idea of liberation through financial independence) is overwhelming in Sex and the City DVD boxset
's desert-set trailer – sick, bad, weird even, those fetishised heels sinking only slightly into the clean white sand. And the characters, now three-quarters married – do they have any more searing truths to tell us about Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset
and relationships? Or will they, as the trailer suggests, offer only cliches – loud Sex and the City DVD
heard through thin walls; jokes about swallowing.

I'll see Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset
, of course – there's a cameo from Liza Minnelli. Plus for every five painful outfits (paisley jumpsuits, gold embroidery, £1,000 shoes) there'll be a covetable, discussable, rip-off-able "look". For every flock of cliches ("Being a mother is hard," says Miranda), Sex and the City DVD
'll be a hint of the cynical humour we saw on TV. And besides, I'll try and watch with my mind turned down low – I'll enjoy the glossiness, the extravagance, the tans. It's beyond fantasy – Sex and the City DVD boxset
's Avatar, but set in the just-gone past. I'll go in memory of the telly double-bills, as it's almost certain – isn't it? – to be Sex and the City dvd set
's last breath.

And, however disappointed I was by the traditional Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset
turn their fairytales took, I want to see where the characters, in their parodies of princess dresses and their swiftly built castles, finally end up. I can't help it. I'm a Carrie: I'm weak.

Member of the unit linked to 'Dirty Dozen' dies in Pa.

PHILADELPHIA — John "Jack" Agnew, one of the original members of a U.S. Army The Unit that operated behind enemy lines in World War II and is often credited with having loosely inspired the movie "The Dirty Dozen," has died at age 88.

Agnew belonged to the Filthy Thirteen, an unofficial The Unit DVD within the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He was pronounced dead Thursday at Abington Memorial Hospital after becoming ill at his home in the Maple Village retirement community in Hatboro, where he and his wife moved about a year ago, his daughter Barbara Agnew Maloney said.

On D-Day, The Unit DVD boxset Filthy Thirteen parachuted into France to take a bridge over the Douve River. It was "a mission that would cost most of the men their lives," according to an article in the winter 2008-09 edition of American Valour Quarterly, a publication of the nonprofit American Veterans Center.

Before The Unit seasons 1-4 DVD the Bulge, Agnew and other members of the unit were requested for pathfinder duty and parachuted into Bastogne, which was besieged by German forces. Agnew operated a beacon to help guide in planes carrying badly needed supplies.

Tales of The Unit DVD's exploits and a Stars and Stripes military newspaper photograph are said to have inspired "The Dirty Dozen," not because any of The Unit's members were convicts like the movie's characters — they weren't — but because of their reputation for brawling, drinking and spending time in the stockade.

In interviews, Agnew, a private first class, said that came directly from The Unit Dvd Set's leader, Jake McNiece.

"We weren't murderers or anything, we just didn't do everything we were supposed to do in some ways and did a whole lot more than they wanted us to do in other ways," he told the quarterly. "We were always in trouble."

Agnew was among those interviewed in The Unit DVD boxset, "The Filthy Thirteen: Real Stories from Behind the Lines," that was included in a 2006 special edition DVD of "The Dirty Dozen."

The Unit seasons 1-4 DVD movie, about an Army major who has to train and lead 12 convicts into a mission targeting German officers, starred Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland and Jim Brown.

Maloney said her father told her about 30 percent of The Unit Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset was true.

"And, actually, the scene where they captured the officers, Dad said that was true and he really coordinated that," she said Sunday.

Two months ago, Maloney said, she accompanied her father to The Unit DVD Set convention in Louisville, Ky., where she met with three of the four surviving Filthy Thirteen members and three members of Easy Company, which was the focus of the HBO series "Band of Brothers."

"Dad, when we were little kids, he'd always say, 'I won The Unit DVDr; I know you don't believe me, but someday you'll know,'" she said. "We didn't really realize it until the 'Band of Brothers' came out."

Agnew will be buried with full military honors Tuesday at Forest Hills Cemetery in Huntingdon Valley, in the Philadelphia suburbs, where he and his wife, Elizabeth Agnew, lived for 56 years, Maloney said.

Smallville Takes on DC Comics

April 13, 2010 - Smallville is currently in its ninth season and has been renewed for at least one more. At this rate, the Smallvilleseries has to qualify as one of the most successful comic book adaptations ever. What began as a simple story featuring a high school age Clark Kent and his friends has grown into something much larger. The Smallvilleseries has showcased dozens of the most famous heroes and villains in the DC Universe. We don't expect that rend to slow one bit as Smallville DVD enters Season 10.

Naturally, some of these characters are more faithful to their original comic book counterparts than others. In this Smallville DVD Set visual guide, we've selected our favorite heroes and villains from the past nine seasons of Smallville. We compare their live-action appearance to the look of the comics, examining which characters succeed, which ones stumble, and why.

Even with as many characters as there are in this list, there are still more left to cover. Let us know who your favorite Smallville DVD boxset guest stars are, and we might just add them in future updates.

Clark Kent

It's one of the most common complaints we hear about Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset - "Why won't Clark put on the costume?". It's true that, even after nine seasons and meeting countless other costumed heroes, Clark seemingly has no desire to don the red and blue tights. In that sense alone he doesn't qualify as being very faithful to the comics.

But strictly comparing Smallville DVD's Clark Kent to Clark Kent of the comics, there are definitely many shared features. Tom Welling has the bulky, chiseled features of a Kansas farmboy in a way other live action Superman actors haven't always managed. Clark's preference for red and blue clothes is also a continuous tease for the eventual costume change they may or may not ever come.

One aspect of the Clark Kent look that was only recently introduced is the glasses. In the comics, Clark relies primarily on his glasses and subtle use of posture and body language to distance himself from Superman. The Clark in Smallville DVD Set is slowly adopting this same strategy, and thus the glasses made their long-awaited debut in Season 9.

The closest thing Clark has worn to a costume so far has been his black, Matrix-inspired look. Instead of a cape and spandex, Clark prefers a trenchcoat and a shirt with his trademark "S" logo painted on. In terms of color, this suit actually recalls the comics. Aside from the trenchcoat, the comic book Clark wore a similar "Kryptonian Life Suit" that helped restore his body after his near-fatal battle with Doomsday.

Lois Lane
As a non-costumed resident of Metropolis Lois Lane doesn't have much in the way of a defined look. As such, it's difficult to criticize Smallville DVD boxset for its portrayal of Lois. In either universe, Lois is a headstrong reporter who wears clothes that accentuate her beauty without flaunting it.

In the Smallville comics, the one source of variation In Lois' over the years has been her hair color. She debuted with black hair, but during the '70s and '80s her hair lightened even as her personality became more forceful. Lois' is usually portrayed as having black hair in the current comics, though some artists depict her as a brunette instead.

A similar shift has taken place in Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset. Lois debuted in her earlier seasons as a brunette. However, more recently her hair has become darker, if not fully black.

Lois is often know to briefly adopt costumed identities in the comics, particularly during the freewheeling days of the Silver Age. This too is referenced in Smallville DVD in the episode "Stiletto". In this episode, Lois adopts the identity of Stiletto and briefly wears a black leather costume that fits right in with Clark's own Matrix-esque costume.

Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor is one of the more faithful characters in the Smallville show in terms of appearance. It's not hard to capture the look of the twisted billionaire industrialist. As long as you have an intense man with a completely bald head, you have your Lex Luthor. Lex's fine business attire only seals the deal.

The Smallvillecomics have gone though a number of varying explanations as to Luthor's hair loss. Originally, Lex was a corpulent man who slowly lost his hair due to advancing age. However, the modern Lex is portrayed as much thinner and fully bald from a young age. Smallville DVD Set established that Lex's hair fell out as a result of the meteor shower that brought Clark to Earth. That's a better explanation than some of the stories we've seen.

The most significant difference between Smallville DVD boxset's Lex and the comic book Lex is that the latter prefers a green and purple ensemble when committing his villainous acts. Often he dons an armored battlesuit when combating Superman directly. The Smallville Seasons 1-8 DVD boxset version seems content to stick to dark, well-tailored suits. Unless Lex becomes a major player in the series once more, we don't expect this difference to change.

Kara Kent
Clark's Kryptonian cousin shows many of the same predilections when it comes to appearance. On a basic level, Kara is similar to her comic book counterpart. Supergirl is usually portrayed as a tall, leggy blond with good looks and a love of halter tops and mini-skirts. Smallville DVD has that much down pat.

Like Clark, Kara has shown little willingness to don a true costume. Instead, she favors a similar red-and-blue color scheme in her everyday attire. She'll also mix in some white clothes as an homage to the Linda Danvers version of Supergirl. With Kara out of the show for now, we don't expect the actual Supergirl costume to be making an appearance. It would be nice if at least one DC hero decided to wait for Clark to suit up before donning their own uniform.

'Sex And The City 2' Will Be An Old-Fashioned Surprise

Sex and the City 2 seems like it would be reliable enough. It’s the sequel to a movie based on a TV show, so the format is pretty well established. Co-star Willie Garson, who plays Stanford Blatch, gave it an intriguing twist when he described the new Sex and the City DVD of Carrie Bradshaw.

“I think it’s like a wartime comedy,” Garson said. “It’s like a Bing Crosby/Bob Hope road comedy and I think people will really respond to Sex and the City DVD Set. I know the fans will love it. I hope that we bring in some more. Who knows?”

The first Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 DVD boxset movie gave all the series regulars an equal part, and the supporting guys had their scenes to shine. Garson said he has a bigger part in the sequel.

“Much bigger. It’s very equitable. The world is about the Sex and the City DVD Set and then the guys each have their thing. A big centerpiece of the movie just happens to be me but it’s just by chance.”

By now, Sex and the City DVD 2 seems like a sure thing. Garson assured the fans that nobody involved takes it for granted. “We are never egotistical enough to think it’s a blockbuster. It will be what it will be. We make it for the fans. We made the last one for the fans and they really surprised us. So we have no expectations ever. I think this one is really fun.”

Sex and the City DVD boxset 2 opens May 27.
