LOOKS as though the Mob could be moving into Wisteria Lane, as Drea de Matteo joins the cast of Desperate Housewives.The star, 37, who won a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for her role as Adriana Le Cerva in The Sopranos, is set to shake things up as a brassy Italian mum with a skeleton or two in her closet.
Desperate insiders say show bosses were looking for a sexy replacement for Edie Britt, the bedhopping vixen played by Nicollette Sheridan.
After sleeping with most of the men in Wisteria Lane, Edie was killed off following a car crash in the last series.
But creator Marc Cherry says Drea's character will be a more mysterious addition to the street, rather than a sexual predator like Edie.
Nevertheless, the husband's of Fairview will not be disappointed with the newcomer, as stunning Drea has twice been ranked in Maxim magazine's Hot 100 Women.
